Centuries ago, weathervanes were one of the first instruments to detect changes in the weather by pointing in the direction from which the wind was blowing. The Tower Of Winds in Athens, Greece (48 BC) is among the earliest archaeological examples, topped with its Triton weathervane. Over the years, a variety of ornaments have been created to display various cultural, religious, and patriotic themes.

This large, full-bodied eagle weathervane is available in three finishes: Gold-bronze (pictured), rust or verdigris (greenish color). It includes a black arrow, mast, directionals and a base with gold-bronze ornament and globes. Rust and verdigris weathervanes include matching color arrow, mast, directionals, base and globes. Weathervane height is 46". Ornament dimensions are 18.75"L x 13.75"H. Includes adjustable roof mount base. Crafted of rust-free aluminum. Double click image for greater detail.
